Wanted Domain Sellers, SEO Sellers, and Digital Sellers

May 7th, 2008

There is no secret that digital sellers have it made with no postage fees and the fast service they tend to give. In the days of the web we want to expose the mega products available to people that make the net what it is. People selling things from Diggs to Domains are wanted in the auction world as well, but we understand you get the good with the bad. Bad sellers will be weeded out and good sellers will be verified. With the fast pace of the internet these are booming products people want. Why should MilBid be any different? The more items we serve, the more people recognize us.

If you are selling services then we ask you check us out. This is a great organized way to get you products out to people that would love to have them. If you are from another country but can provide these items then you are welcome here. If you are a scammer or can’t provide a service as stated in your auction for the price you get then it will take only one report to block you from MilBid. We hope to help sellers in this area of eBooks or anything else digital to come and list with us. Everything is free so there should be no worries about risking anything.

Pass the word around and help a community become even bigger and even more successful! Perhaps if you are in this field you will also help MilBid by donating your services from time to time in helping us reach even more people that want your service. Everyone helps everyone here and we would be honored to try delivering this type of product on our site.

MilBid is the 1st Place Winner of RSD Surfing!

April 28th, 2008

 surferweek.png

Today we had the results handed to us. Really Smart Deals ran a competition to surf again another auction site. The surfing consisted of pages that were predetermined from auctions sites to sale pages of members. Every time you clicked a new page you received a point. Our member Bays Beauty took first place from Your High Bid and ended their 3 week campaign of all prizes. We did this in a fun competition and put our team together for the surfing. Out of our team 3 members successfully got into the top 10. I would like to congratulate them in their respective order: BaysBeauty (1st Place!), Vinewood (3rd Place!), and Southern Belle Collectibles (7th Place!). Of course a very well earned thank you for the other Milbidders that took part in helping raise milBid another notch of visibility.

So for the surfing that was done, MilBid earned advertising and the right to hold the trophy for a whole week on the Really Smart Deals website. In the heart of competition we thank the other site for letting us play with them in a great click-off! This truly shows the camaraderie MilBid instills and has among it’s member base.  You can see that for a new site like our’s we can show the world we are strong when we work as one not only in the contests but to make a booming site like we have. There is no other place on the net that will have the tight-knit and robust site like we have. I am so very proud of having the team we have.

What makes this such an achievement you ask? No one knew much about us a week ago when we joined the competition 2 days after it started. MilBidders stayed awake for extra hours, called each other, sent emails, and worked to make sure everyone knew what the rules were. We went in with a mission and we completed that mission. Other sites can see we aren’t going anywhere and this is only the beginning of what we are capable of. Cocky? Yes indeed becuase we know we have something unique and we plan on doing this together. We help each other succeed and not through empty words but actions. That is the toughest team to beat.

So as the trophy winners, we are happy to have been able to enjoy the victory thanks to everyone that made that possible. See you in the next contest when MilBid brings the whole team in with another attempt at victory!

MilBid Community

April 14th, 2008

Lately the community at MilBid is growing leaps and bounds. This could be contributed to word of mouth, a wonderful site to be a part of, list of features available, no fees sitewide, or the fine community of members. No matter the reason we are thrilled so many people are turning to MilBid as their online auction house. We have been increasing in all areas but the one we are most proud of is the community itself. So many members dedicate themselves in helping others succeed, giving advice, spreading the word, and generally spreading the kind warmheartedness this site was built upon. Unlike other forums and sites we filter our community to keep things positive in growth and personality.

We don’t take kindly to people that want to bring the overall attitude of the site down a notch. We don’t allow harsh posts, or anything threatening in our auction site. This website was built in the wants and needs of people that have been abused or treated wrongly in other venues that need a place that will treat them fairly, help them sell, and let them actually make money. We are succeeding where many others are failing.  The administration here at MilBid is greatful, respectful, understanding, and most of all not greedy. We want sales to flourish and the community here not only trusts in that but boasts about it throughout the world wide web.

If you have been looking for a place special for your items, or are looking for a great place to purchase something then please come in and get to know us. We don’t separate buyers and sellers. We encourage an open platform where questions can be asked, and you can get to know who you are buying from. We are tearing down walls that other sites put up in the hope we can show the world how this improves activity in the auction format.  Make no bones about it, MilBid wants you and we will do what needs to be done to make sure you have the tools you need to be a fan and family of MilBid.

Some U.S. Army Posts Block MilBid.com

March 25th, 2008

Tonight an email was received from a soldier saying MilBid was blocked on the Army Fort. When asked for the reasoning we received word that the Army posts are concerned with possible pornography being on the site. To squelched any rumor of this we fell it’s necessary to get word out to everyone that there is currently nor will there ever be pornography on MilBid. This site was developed to help the units and troops and putting such material would not only disintegrate the opportunity to complete our mission but would an extremely unsound decision to make regarding the audience we hope to develop and keep.

We ask any Airman, Soldier, Sailor, Marine, or Coastie to express this concern through the chain as it completely hurts the sites objectives and we want to be seen as an asset to the military and not a threat of any kind. It was sad to receive news of this and we truly implore those making the decision to block or unblock websites for unsafe material to take a whole hearted look through our site so they can make the assessment of what we do and create here for the entire population of the world to enjoy and utilize so the military members can receive what they deserve. Anything short of unblocking or unfiltering hurts not only us but the people we are trying to serve through the service we are providing. We hope the posts will reconsider MilBid as a safe site for members to travel to in the future.

To the rest of the unblocked world we offer this as a word that we will not be offering pornography as a product on our website. We do not need to profit or entertain this type of material to earn revenue in support of those that serve. Anyone attempting to undermine this policy will be deleted completely from our system immediately.

MilBid Groups and Clubs

March 22nd, 2008

Just like other places you can be a proud owner of your own group or club in the community. Everything is in the making for you to be the first instead of being 1 of 80 clubs with the same name. You can say without a doubt you were the first to have your club on MilBid. You Might be asking why should you start a club? Well let’s list some reasons why it might be important:

  • Bring other users with your interests together.
  • Make a name for yourself on the site.
  • Start something big as a real club thats meets in person.
  • Get a shot at leadership.
  • Bring value to our community.
  • Fill in your thoughts here _______.

Groups are important because it gives people a reason to travel through the site looking at everything from your store to auctions or just chit chat about the area they love. If you have any doubt in why you should start one then join our forum and ask around. We love enthusiastic people that want more in their online experience. Shouldn’t you?

Ppfftt…MilBid Who?

March 22nd, 2008

That’s right, MilBid Who? How about MilBid is coming? We are new, about 6 weeks old at this point and we have 39 great members and over 2300 listings right now. We may be new but it’s hard to think a site with this uniqueness, this level of community and site features is destined to fail. There’s a lot of commitment behind the scenes from the Admin, Sellers, and Buyers to make this work as the population looks for new means of surviving the auction platform. Reading the loads of sites competing for your attention it’s a no brainer free is better. Why pay a membership fee? No need to pay anything to sell or buy. This is the great thing about a site that already has the resources to be on top.

We can’t go tooting our horn just yet and we have not proven anything other than we have a website. Milbid will grow tremendously through 2008 and beyond as the year comes in and people start finding out about us. The marking goal of success comes at 10,000 listings. Why a low goal? This is because thats what it will take to even get on the radar for serious looks around the net. You don’t hear about sites until they crack this barrier. We are almost 25% to that goal in 6 weeks. It’s anyones guess when we will hit the threshold but we certainly are moving. If your holding off joining, then ask yourself why? Get in on the ground floor now and help build a community you belong in!

So You Want to Be the Only Horse in Town

March 19th, 2008

Oh God no! We want to be a horse in town. Everyone knows the monopoly days of the online auction is eroding. Instead we want to be a choice venue that is part of the bigger picture. We already partnered up with UBidRight and they have helped us a long quite a bit! We are not the next billion dollar success. We just want a piece of the pie to help sellers sell and buyers buy. Is there anything wrong with that? Not a chance is the answer. We have the resources to be a contender in the auction field but we truly want to provide something people can make money with. We can’t do it alone though. This is something we need a small army for.

We have setup so much already to make this place awesome and large. We just need to fill it up with real members and make a big name for ourselves. Can we do that you might ask. I think so. This is not really a shot in the dark as we have a unique twist on the overall scheme. We don’t offer memberships for money, we don’t have selling rates, we don’t have that awkward billing thing happen. Come in and do your thing.  If you run another auction site let’s collaborate. Thats the unique part about being MilBid. We are not competing we just want to be in the game, not the game. Come support the troops with us today!

Competition with the Owner

March 17th, 2008

One thing that does differ is the way MilBid’s leadership stand on competition with members. The owner of MilBid (Adam) has no intention on competing with someone else in a niche. Initially items were listed to help jump start the auction block but once members come in with similar products those starter auctions will be removed. You never have to worry about competing with the leadership here at MilBid.

This type of selling is a negative against sellers that have no control on unfairness and brings down the morale of the entire member base. Knowing that you will be treated fairly along with your products is important to us. The owner specializes in military collectibles and has his own outlet to sell his goods. If someone comes in and sells the same product then Adam’s listing will be removed. If anything is ever overlooked than please step up and say it is so. The intentions are clearly laid out and this post is strong enough to show everyone how we stand on such competition. This site was not started so the owner could have a free venue to sell on. MilBid was started so others can have a fighting chance to earn money and reap the benefits of this website.

As with anything here, you have a voice and these things need to be discussed. We encourage our members to be proactive in setting things fair and this is one of them.

Are You Part Of Spreading MilBid?

March 17th, 2008

Spread the word is what we need. We can’t spread the word without you. We are no fool to think the world will know us through just regual advertising. Word of mouth is still the number one way to get people involved. It’s true that when someone tells you about a site they tend to listen and begin checking things out. Spreading the word can take place in many ways. Some of the ways you can help are:

  1. Email
  2. Write a blog or post in your favorite forum
  3. Tell a friend at work
  4. Tell a family member
  5. Share success stories

We know you’re not alone in the quest of ecommerce whether you are just looking for something to buy or selling the stuff in your garage. You have support here and we hope that you will support us back through efforts of gabbing. It doesn’t take much but a sentence to inform someone new to what is going on. Go ahead and try it!

Store Highlights

March 17th, 2008

Starting this month we have a section that highlights your store on MilBid that is led by Bays in the community forum. You will find the store of the week under Store Light where we show off a member’s store. We are proud of what each member is doing on the site and recognizing them for what they are doing is important. All our member’s sell something different and we want to showcase them. Do you want a little extra attention? Well sign up and develop a store we can tell the world about. Promoting your business is number one in our goal list.

All you have to do is take the leap of faith and start building your online business with many others that want to do the same thing. It will take a small army of buyers and sellers to make you successful. If you don’t understand or need help figuring out your store and how to get into the spotlight just join in on the forum fun and start asking around. Our helpful members are here to help each other because they understand it takes more than one, it takes a true team effort.
